Candles? Yes, candles!
 unsolved

Hello everyone. I just bought a wii remote, but i don't have a wii as such. I just want to do some experiments with it for fun.

Now I was playing a bit with the IR possibilities. Since i don't own a wii, i don't have the IR thingy that you're supposed to put above your screen. But i recalled that candles give infra-red light too, and i put 2 candles left and right of my screen. It works, so that's the good bit. However...

When i try things out in wmgui, all movements seem to be reversed. Of course it's not very hard to reverse them back if i start programming, but i just wondered if this is also the case when using the real wii IR. Or is it somehow different from infra-red light candles are omitting? (I tried to switch the candles, but it did not have an effect. (haha))

Thanks for your time,

That's just how wmgui visually reports the information it gets. When using the IR plugin with wminput you get the desired results (ie the curser moves left when you move the wii remote left).

If I remember correctly, wmgui reports exactly the coordinates it receives from the wiimote, which are flipped about one of the two axes.
