Problems (#1) - new guitar controller (#114) - Message List
I have the new guitar sold with guitar hero world tour and when I 've plugged it and tested with wmdemo.py it said me : No extension. When I test with a "Nunchuk" or a "Classic Controller" I have the good things at the screen.
I think I must have "Unknown Extension". Do you know where can be the problem ?
I have the version 0.6.00 provided by ubuntu 8.10

I found that the id of the guitar is 0xFFFF so it use EXT_PARTIAL

I have exactly the same problem as you... I'm also using Ubuntu 8.10/cwiid 0.6 and tried out the Wii-GHWT-guitar with wmgui.
I had hoped that it works like the GH3-controller which is known to work as a classic controller. But nope, I found out here http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wiimote/Extension_Controllers#Guitar_Hero_Guitar_World_Tour that it uses 0xFFFF (as you said).
I'd really like to use the GHWT guitar for Frets on Fire, but the problem is I don't know what to do now. Despite the fact that I don't know how to code neither C nor python, I don't know whether writing a plugin or changing some code of cwiid would solve this problem.
If some of you need some dumps from me or something like this, let me know (and let me know HOW).
