I've noticed several people having issues with the Wiki formatting in the Discussion forums. Checkout WikiFormatting for details on the formatting syntax, and in particular, note that for preformatted/verbatim text (like code or console output), use triple curly braces like so:

{{{
verbatim text
retains newlines
        and     whitespace
}}}

which shows up as

verbatim text
retains newlines
        and     whitespace

If it doesn't catch on, I can turn it off, but I'd like to try it awhile longer.

Also, you can pick what events you want in the Timeline, and copy the customized RSS feed URL (link at the bottom of the page) into your RSS client, which is how I've been keeping tabs on everything.

The more I work with Trac, the more I like it - there are other systems that handle each individual task better, but you just can't beat the integration. And you've got to expect rough edges with a 0.10 release (or 0.5.02, for that matter).

I thought it was weird when half of the forum was in my inbox :)

no worries about disabling the notification feature. I can live without it since I can see the time since the last post here on the site.

Concerning all the emails the discussion forums have generated lately - I like the notification feature, but prefer it to be opt in rather than default. Unfortunately, the discussion plugin is still a bit rough, and there was a bug in the "optional" part. Until it's fixed upstream, I've disabled it with prejudice. In the process, I think I deluged nickishappy's inbox - sorry about that.

I didn't know that I could use wiki formatting syntax even in the post. I'll use it where needed.
