Questions (#2) - Acc Accuracy (#58) - Message List
Playing with the wiimote. I found out, that sometimes the wiimote Acc Values toggle between two values for Example 129 and 130. So the movement is kind of flickering. My question is now: Is this accuracy limited by the wiimote hardware, or is it implementation specific, so that it would be possible to increase accuracy?
As far as accuracy goes, it is what it is. The raw accelerometer values are read directly from the Wiimote. I suppose it's possible that there are parameters in the registers, but I don't know what they would be, and to my knowledge they haven't been identified.
Greater precision can be attained, as there are some extra bits in the acc messages. I'm not using them as no one has been able to demonstrate with sufficient certainty which bits go with which axis (the extra bits aren't laid out consecutively). These low bits will flicker even more than the bits you already have, however - it's this flicker that makes them difficult to associate with axes.dsmith11/17/07 18:17:47 (6 years ago)
