Detection position Z with IR

Hi, I working in an aplication like Chung Lee. He can get the position with IR in X, Y and Z.

How is possible to get the position Z with IR?

Thanks

You can only guess/estimate Z with IR if you have 2 or more sources By calculating the distance between the sources. If the sources are getting closer together, the wiimote is moving away from them. If the sources are becoming farther apart, the wiimote is moving towards the sources.

You could also try to use the accelerometer data to help make the calculations more accurate.

Actually, IR separation is all you have. Johnny's application has the wiimote fixed, and uses it to track IR sources on the subject.

You could try including IR size, as well, but I imagine that data is going to be too noisy, as well as introduce fluctuations with dimensions you probably don't care about (head orientation).
